"I wanted movement and not a calm course of existence. I wanted excitement and danger and the chance to sacrifice myself for my love. I felt in myself a superabundance of energy which found no outlet in our quiet life."
~Leo Tolstoy
This classic roof/highball problem "Mexican Chicken" in Hueco Tanks, TX, was filmed and edited by a fellow traveling climber whom I have unfortunately lost contact information with. If you ever get a chance to see this B, thanks so much buddy!
When highliners decide to get creative with a little extra rigging, time and ropes: the "Swingline" is thus created. Here is some extra footage from the 3rd annual 2010 G.G.B.Y. (Gobble Gobble Bitches Yeah) gathering in Moab, UT. The first swingline was done off of a newly bolted highline ("God Loves Americans" 150') at the Silt Road Bowl and the last/biggest swingline is from the infamous Fruit Bowl onto "Dean's Baseline" (120'). The concluding mega swing was eventually jumped with two full 60 meter ropes at its furthest point... a lot of stretch and a lot of swing! Enjoy...
This video was originally posted to an old youtube account that I forgot the password to and can no longer access, so I decided to repost it here in a higher definition edit. Special thanks to Heinz Zak for his company and photos, Andy Lewis for lending us gear in need and being a crazy monkey fool, Somewherelseland crew for rigging and being psyched, Ryan Matson for his awesome cooking skills and outstanding generosity, Brent and Canyon Cain for allowing us to invade your home and hosting so many monkeys sleeping on the floor, and to so many others that I am most likely forgetting... Keep it slack!
A short film featuring the most recent and 3rd annual G.G.B.Y. (Gobble Gobble Bitches Yeah) gathering in Moab, UT. All in all, this film only documents a small fraction of the epicness that took place. With each passing year it seems the "limits" of highlining are constantly being redefined while the strong comradery amongst new and old friends continues to grow... Enjoy!

Summer 2010 footage of the classic 100' Taft Point Highline and Alcove Swing in Yosemite Valley, CA. Due to hangers being stolen from the Rostrum anchors, which foiled our additional rigging plans, another trip will be undertaken in the upcoming seasons to put up more lines. Stay tuned for more Yose-Mite action to come... Can you say "Yosemite Falls" and "Long Lost Arrow Spire"?
